The First Aid at Work (FAW) course at ProParamedics is a comprehensive training program designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively respond to medical emergencies in the workplace. Tailored to meet the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines, this course is essential for designated workplace first aiders and those seeking to enhance their emergency response capabilities.

Spanning over multiple days, the FAW course covers a wide range of topics, ensuring participants are well-prepared to handle various medical situations. Beginning with fundamental concepts such as the roles and responsibilities of a first aider and basic life support techniques, the course progresses to more advanced topics including the management of injuries, illnesses, and medical conditions commonly encountered in the workplace.

Participants receive hands-on training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and techniques for controlling bleeding, managing fractures, and stabilizing spinal injuries. Additionally, they learn how to recognise and respond to medical emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and allergic reactions.

Instructors at ProParamedics are highly experienced medical professionals, with backgrounds in emergency medicine, paramedicine, or nursing. They provide engaging and interactive learning experiences, incorporating practical demonstrations, group discussions, and scenario-based simulations to reinforce key concepts and enhance retention.
