First Aid at Work

First Aid at Work (FAW) training at ProParamedics is a cornerstone of workplace safety, providing participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively to medical emergencies. Led by experienced instructors who are often seasoned healthcare professionals, the training sessions at ProParamedics are interactive and engaging. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, practical demonstrations, and hands-on exercises, participants develop confidence in their ability to handle various medical scenarios effectively.

Key skills taught during the FAW training include controlling bleeding, managing fractures, treating burns and scalds, and recognising the signs and symptoms of common medical conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, and allergic reactions. Participants also learn how to conduct a primary survey to assess and stabilise injured individuals before professional medical help arrives.

Emphasis is placed on communication techniques, teamwork, and maintaining a calm and composed demeanour during emergencies. Participants are encouraged to practice effective decision-making and leadership skills, ensuring that they can provide assistance efficiently even in high-pressure situations.

Upon successful completion of the FAW training, participants receive certification that is valid for three years, demonstrating their competence as workplace first aiders.
