Proparamedics Deliver ProMediKids First Aid Training for Children

Proparamedics, Northern Ireland’s first independent ambulance service and a family-run business celebrating 25 years of service, delivered its ProMediKids – A First Aid Training Programme for children – at the Ballynahinch Community Centre on Friday 16 August, bringing vital education to the local community.
The ProMediKids programme, launched by Proparamedics in 2023, is designed to teach children aged 7 to 11 essential life-saving skills, fostering a positive relationship with emergency services and equipping young individuals with the knowledge and confidence to act in emergencies.
“Teaching first aid to children at an early age is essential. It not only equips them with life-saving skills but also helps them feel confident and prepared to act in critical situations,” said Megan Hamill, Training Manager at Proparamedics.
“Our course is tailored for children aged 7 to 11 and focuses on crucial skills such as how to contact emergency services, CPR, choking, the recovery position and also an awareness of mental health conditions. By participating in this course, children will gain foundational first aid knowledge, empowering them to respond effectively in emergency situations and potentially save lives.”
